I thought I should post this again cause i still have guys asking me what happened to all the wedding entries! =)

We have actually set up a Lightedpixels Blog at http://lightedpixelsblog.com

Alwin, Yi Xin and myself will be posting our wedding related images there. This blog will be kept as a personal blog and also to share non-wedding related images.

Warmest,

Kelvin

Beth and I were gonna start learning Japanese for our trip to Kyoto next year. Chie, the makeup artist whom we use in Kyoto for our shoots has been picking up English since I first met her about 2 years back. I thought I should put in some effort and pick up some Jap too.

However, we have been really busy with our schedule and as such, Kyra started her lessons first without us. Her tutor is the very friendly and warm Miki, whom I first met at a wedding!

Here's a clip of her going through some of the words she has picked up.

We had some (not so) quiet family time last night. Kyra was singing for us her song of the moment and Beth and Nessya were in the room with us. Kyra then started trying to make Nessya laugh, obviously copying the ways we adults have tried on Nessya! =0

Here's the video to share. =)

This was hilarious.

I brought Kyra to the toilet yesterday while at Pietrasanta and first she insisted on using the ladies and not the gents. I had to explain and convince her otherwise! Then while in the cubicle and doing no. 2, she cupped her ears. I thought there was a noise somewhere thats scaring her. Then she started repeating with her eyes tightly shut, "Papaya papaya papaya... chou chou is hard. Must eat papaya" The poor girl was constipated and had to remind herself that she had to take more papayas as mummy had advised!

Kyra celebrated her 3rd birthday last month. Beth and I got her a pink Canon Ixus for her birthday gift. As I shoot quite a bit around Wessex Estate, Kyra has seen me on shoots occasionally when she takes her walks. She's always shown an interest with the camera. So, it wasn't really a hard decision to get the girl her first camera!

Thats her shooting me shooting her. She found it quite amusing!

That's a pic of me she really likes!

She shoots Nessya quite a bit!

Her playschool mate, Lily.

One of Kyra's regular playmate, Faith. She really enjoys her play sessions with Faith.

Jac Jac as Kyra would call her.

Daddy's camera is always better.

We gotta know Miki from Alvin and Eva's wedding earlier this year. We kept in touch and later on I found out that she actually provides private Japanese tuition. Beth and I had always wanted to pick up the language especially since we shoot in Japan quite often. In fact, we are headed back for Kyoto next April for Cherry Blossoms season again.

The lessons were suppose to start in August but it got delayed with Nessya's birth and my travels. Meanwhile, to not delay the lessons and to show some commitment, we got Kyra started instead! Ha!

So last evening, Kyra had her first Jap lessons. Miki hit it off real well with Kyra. By the end of the lesson, Kyra actually kissed her goodbye without being asked to! No doubt, the box of animal shaped biscuits that Miki brought along helped bribe the little one.

By the end of the evening, Kyra was telling us Konichiwa, Arrigatoo, Ichi Ni San and could say her own name, Ka I Ra.

Beth meanwhile pointed out the fact that she could pick up Jap even before she speaks mandarin!

We have a new addition in the family! When I first saw Peter, I loved him to bits! He's such a fur ball! I could barely find his eyes! I also thought it would be good for Kyra and Nessya, later on, to keep a pet. I had a rabbit when I was young and they are such nice pets to keep. I also believe they would teach one to be more compassionate.

When I brought Peter home, Kyra had the chance to name him, and she promptly chose Peter, no thanks to Ian's recent gift of Peter Rabbit books! We suggested many other cooler names like Hugh, Alfie, Ash.... but Kyra wouldn't hear of it!

So here they are, girl and rabbit looking and playing with one another although I suspect the scaredy cat Kyra is still a little jumpy when Peter hops too close! Silly girl!

We headed off to Plaza Singapura last night for dinner/supper after work. It's been a really busy period for all of us and we all figured we could take a break! Kyra came along too, without Beth's knowledge. Beth thought we were headed out to Holland V, which was our initial plan.

So Kyra, in her glorious purple pjs, excitedly sang her way with us. She also ended up signing up for a Hong Kong Street Cafe membership card. She was the only person in our party who is celebrating her birthday this month! Here are some images taken with my iphone.

We found a matching backdrop for her!

The whole Lightedpixels team...less Beth, who had to care for Nessya back home.

She loved the lounge chairs! She was all snuggly in it.

I love Tori Amos and here... Kyra comes pretty close! Ha who am I kidding. Beth and I enjoyed her little number quite a bit so we thought we share it here...

Kyra's little own original composition. Someday when she picks up her MTV award, they will play this song! Recorded in our humble place at Wessex! =)

Dear friends and readers...

I am truly sorry for the lack of updates. Its been a truly busy period. Lots of weddings the last month and this. I have a crazy schedule of 11 shoots in 14 days! Tomorrow is the last of the 11 shoots.

Just typing that out makes me feel like catching a breath. Some have asked me if that affects the quality of work. Sincerely, it doesn't. At least not for me. I have had rougher days back in the corporate world.Besides, I truly enjoy what I do and that actually makes me look forward to doing more shoots! Seriously, I feel that its more about disciplining myself to not take up too many weddings.

The coming days are going to be quite busy too and at month end, I head for Hong Kong for a family shoot, a wedding shoot and a pre-wedding. All 3 in a trip! =) I am pretty excited about the trip cause (hold on to your seat now) I have never been to HK! Sheesh eh?

On a separate note, I met Lynn and Chris today at Eric and Grace's wedding and we ended discussing about blogging and the rise and rise of Facebook. It's alot easier now posting our works on Facebook but LJ is alot more personal to me and the relationships we have had here are alot more meaningful... call it first love. It might just be that!

Meanwhile, stay in touch and I will be trying my best to post more often!

Kyra's been doodling around quite a bit with her crayon and drawing boards. It started with circles and lines and now she has finally made the monumental step in putting them together to form portraits!

Here is an evolution of her drawing so far...

This first drawing is of Beth and Nessya. When I first saw it, I thought "wow" she can actually draw jellyfishes! =) Turns out I was wrong. She was still missing out on the hands tho.

Kyra's self portrait....  =)

Her take on a spiderweb with a spider in the middle. The straight line IS a spider.

A snowman...

A portrait of Beth and the very first time she is writing "M".

Thats a portrait of her Yee Yee and Teoh Teoh... She still gotta work on the Y and T tho...

Her take on me.. with beard! I didnt teach her that! The circle is her attempt at writing "D"

Little Nessya... complete with eyebrows. That's after my mom commented that her drawings all had no eyebrows... She also managed the letter "N" Well, kinda.

Well... till the artist decides to doodle again! She's been pretty broody today.

She's either making a monkey face (or silly face as she calls it) or she just had some really sour chips!

Dear friends and readers...

I am currently in Paris for shoots. Sorry for the lack of updates but its been a truly busy period.

The shoots here have been very meaningful so far. The experience in Geneva was unforgettable. Leo and Keri were really hospitable and warm. It made leaving the city of Geneva just that much more difficult. I can also see why Keri's not intent on returning to Singapore. =)

Jacquelyn Law and Alwin are with me here in Paris. So are fellow wedding photographers Bryan and Jean. They are here for their own shoot later this weekend. It's nice to have so much company for a change. I have never been alone throughout this Paris leg.

Shoots-wise, the past week has been pretty tiring for Jacq and I though. We have shot for 2 couples and there are 3 more to go. We had a break today but have 3 shoots coming up over the next few days.

Shooting for the last two couples have been such a meaningful experience. The first couple, Ray and Lydia, look really good together! They were also extremely fun to shoot for. Where ever we went around Paris, they were a hit with the tourists!

The second couple, Yanni and Eng Hwa, were celebrating their 10th anniversary with a photoshoot in Paris with their 4 year old son, Rayjin. Ray is quite a riot! He is so so adorable. I only wish we had Beth, Kyra and Nessya with us! =) Kyra would have a blast with this guy. He is so cheeky and funny. Very likeable. I am unsure if Jacq would agree tho. Half the time she was chasing him and carrying him! Ha! I have never seen her so tired! No boys for her she said if she ever was gonna have kids! Hahah... I also thought it was really sweet to have Eng Hwa fully supportive of Yanni's plan to do this photoshoot in Paris. After all, that's where they met, at the Arc de Triomphe.

More on the two shoots and images at the Lightedpixels Blog, www.lightedpixelsblog.com, in the coming days.

The break today was pretty eventful. We spent the morning waiting for Alwin's arrival only to miss him by 15 mins because he got a little lost! =)

Thank goodness we eventually met up with him in the hotel. It's the guy's first trip to Paris and I must admit for the first time visitor, directions around the city can be alittle intimidating especially when almost everything is in french!

We basically spent the whole day shopping at the outlet mall (where Longchamp bags are at a pretty good discount) and shopping along Rue St Honore, where the flagship Hermes store is. Ever since, I posted about a year back on the hunt for a Birkin (kelvinkoh.livejournal.com/tag/birkin), I have had a few requests to help purchase them. Today, I left Hermes with a 35cm Beige Canvas with White Leather top. It's a classic Hermes canvas bag and it's a real looker. I actually quite like it! More on that and pictures to follow soon on a separate blog entry!

Meanwhile, here's an image I found off the web (albeit from a site that sells replicas!)

This was filmed about a week or so back.

I spend most of the evenings with Kyra playing in her room. A friend, from Halia, suggested I record it down. Images are powerful but video recordings are precious too. Her voice, nuances... every little small thing is captured.

How fast time flies. Its been almost a month and more than 4 weeks since little Nessya's birth.

Nessya's body clock, like some of our guys here at Lightedpixels, is a little messed up. She sleeps all day and stays awake almost all night! Other than that, she's been a really nice and easy baby to care for. It's reliving the experience of caring for Kyra when she was a baby except without as much fuss. It's also very much a love hate thing. With Kyra, I couldn't wait for her to grow up but when she was all grown up, we, especially Beth, missed having her as a baby. They really grow fast and before you know it, she's a big girl now, very much having a mind of her own! With Nessya, we are trying our best to enjoy the whole process and watch her grow. When she's older, then perhaps its time for number 3! Can't believe I just typed that down!

We celebrated Nessya's first month last night. It being a holiday and also the fact that I fly off tonight for Europe for about 2 plus weeks, meant that we had to celebrate a little earlier.

It was touching to see quite a number of friends and relatives gather. Eu Jin and his band of guys also chipped in with a performance that very much wowed the whole house. They were simply amazing. When people choose to give off their all in their performance, it makes for a wonderful experience.

Here are some images to share from last night. If you were there, thank you very much for being a part of it. For those who sent their well-wishes, thank you too. Wish we had you with us.

Maybe just maybe, she didn't know what the fuss was all about.

Kyra and her tramp. She can jump the whole day if there wasn't youtube!

Beth's grandma getting a message from my uncle!

this my dear friends and readers is an exclusive... its been years since anyone's seen her legs!

My grandma, who was pretty amused at that fact!

My brother, Ryan. It's a shame I havent featured him more in this blog.

The lovely jacquelyn and equally lovely Derrick and Abigail . It was a reunion of sorts. We were all in Santorini May last year.

Eu Jin, who really is just a gentle person at heart.

My cousin Lynn... whose dad I was really inspired by.

This was taken by Wesley. Love it!

Beth's basically almost back to her pre-pregnancy days!

The extremely talented Jurane Solano www.facebook.com/pages/Jurane-Solano/96873078732 Her rendition of "On My Own" is one of the best I have ever heard! We have been blessed to know so many talented performers!

Next to the intensity, Beth and I think she grips her pen really well.

Kyra's cousin, Kai. No idea what he saw on Kyra's pad!

The guys posing under the tree. Yes... very silly but what fun!

Cheers guys!

Will try and blog from Geneva and Paris. Gonna really miss the girls!

I am very thankful for being able to slow down the mornings and appreciate the time and company I have. Mornings can be a really still and quiet time unless you have a 2 year old running around wanting to hose the flowers!

It's the time of the year where the newly graduate celebrate their graduation with a photoshoot! Some do it with their family, others choose to do it alone and there are the few who do it with their closest pals!

Here is a recent set of graduation images from a group of graduates from SMU. It was a thoroughly fun experience shooting them. At one point, it actually made me chuckle! Some bits were hilarious.

Thanks guys for the experience...

I can't help it... graduates from the school of rock!

I first got to know the lovely couple at Max and Ling's wedding, where they were helping out. Subsequently, I shot their wedding and have kept in touch since.

When Andrew and Janice [info]ickleoriental  had the very lovely Rosco and Sally, I was looking forward to shooting their little family. We took some time out on a weekend for the shoot followed by brekkies at our place.

Here are some of the images to share...
